Recently a luxury fashion house held an invite only event at their New Bond Street store for their special customers. The event marked the launch of their new season’s collection and involved an artic lorry of furniture and other visual merchandising (VM) props coming over from Paris. These items needed to replace the store’s existing fittings, but only for the duration of the event.
The client wanted to connect with a specialist retail storage and logistics partner to help them because:
HSL provide a consolidated storage solution in the UK for VM items thanks to their professional and responsive team, prompt communications and full transparency in inventory management through their online warehouse management system. HSL also have the ability to work with their clients to build a bespoke project plan, including white glove delivery to meet their requirements. HSL’s aim is to manage as much of his process as possible, removing the stress of these events for their clients.
The artic lorry of furniture and VM props was shipped directly from Paris to HSL’s warehouse where the team made a full inventory and shared it with the client. Everything was then stored until required.
Day one evening – The first HSL team worked overnight whilst the store was closed. They carefully packed and removed regular furniture from the store and brought it back to their warehouse where it was securely stored.
Day two morning – The second HSL team white glove delivered into the store all of the furniture that had been shipped from Paris. They set it as requested by the client, so the store was ready for the event the next day.
Day two afternoon/early evening – The client held a well-attended customer launch event, which was warmly received.
Day two evening – The second HSL team worked overnight removing all the furniture which had been delivered on day two morning. It was securely packed, loaded onto a truck and brought back to their warehouse.
Day three morning – The first HSL team white glove delivered all of the regular furniture stored in their Oxfordshire warehouse back to the client and set the sales floor up as it had been originally on day one evening.
The HSL team cross-checked the inventory of the furniture being shipped back to Paris. Everything was loaded onto a dedicated truck.
Some items were kept in HSL’s warehouse for future use in the UK
